Brief History: A complete unknown to the world at large, Lucifer Fawkes is a frontline soldier known as a Keeper in the war against the ever-encroaching darkness brought on by the supernatural. He is a master in the arts of the mystical and occult, hunting down the evils of the world such as demons, vampires, werewolves, ghouls and sorcerers.
He first appeared as Lucifer Fawkes in 2012, in the city of Cosmopolis, but his methods were quite different at the time. Fawkes was more of a typical non-powered vigilante, fighting against mobsters and drug lords, but an incident in 2015 changed all that. He was caught in the middle of a battle between Constable IV and the energy vampire, Cord Nibar. Being shot by Constable IV's HALO cannon and nearly drained of life by Nibar at the same time transformed him. He turned into some sort of creature of the night himself, partially dead but partially alive. Now, Lucifer Fawkes is a unique being, the Non-Living, which has allowed him to be trained into the supernatural watchdog he is today by the previous Keeper, Charlie Bedlam.
Before this transformation, Fawkes had a secret identity, that of a normal person. His real name was Sam Fulcrum. He made a living as a freelance computer specialist. Unfortunately, this life has been over for years, but he used the money he made to finance his current operations, including the purchase of several "lairs" from which he operates out of. He owns an old, abandoned mansion on the outskirts of Cosmopolis, which he leaves dilapidated to keep people away, as well as a several apartments spread throughout the state of Washington.
Abilities: Before his accident in 2015, Lucifer Fawkes had no extraordinary abilities. He was a normal man, albeit in great shape. He was proficient in certain forms of hand-to-hand combat, such as Tai Chi and Boxing. He's quite knowledgeable with many types of weapons, such as guns and knives. Most of this training came from a short stint in the Marine Corps.
After the accident, his new "state of being" had turned him into a human sponge, of sorts, soaking up the knowledge and abilities of several forms of magic with ease. Trained by Charlie Bedlam, Fawkes had gained many powers. With the use of numerous spells, he can melt into the shadows, appear out of nowhere, obliterate demons with talismans, and much more. The full extent of his abilities have yet to be gauged.
Also due to the changes to him after the accident, Fawkes' physical being had been severely altered. He now possessed a strength greater than normal men and his senses were amplified and changed. His sense of smell and taste were now more acute, and his eyes now saw in a wider spectrum of light and darkness, allowing him to see ghosts and other supernatural phenomenon. He longer needed to eat as much. Sleep has become fleeting, only needing it a couple of times a week.
Not all of the changes were beneficial, though. One of the hardest changes for him to deal with was the loss of sensation and feeling. He can feel and taste and smell with a clinical intensity, but the feelings that go along with them are gone.
Accouterments: Lucifer Fawkes uses many weapons and objects in his life as Keeper. He carries several pouches on his belt, filled with an array of charms and amulets, as well as practical objects, like flashlights and tools. He also wears a strange stone necklace, but the purpose of it is still unknown.
His weapon of choice is his Shale Tomahawk Axe, handed to him from Charlie Bedlam. It contains many magical properties, such as the ability to cut through anything mystical, shoot bursts of concentrated magical energy, etc.
Held over from his early days, Fawkes carries with him a pair of .50 caliber Desert Eagle pistols. Besides normal rounds, the gun also fires specially prepared magical ammunition for a number of effects. Although, the magic ammo is difficult to make, so it is reserved for desperate situations.
His uniform/costume is another leftover from his previous life as a vigilante crimefighter. Although the costume varies in color and design, it's basic look is always the same.
